1. Parent University - Oct 22 - Bridging the Gap Between Home and School - connecting with the school academically and behaviorally, resources that are available Looking for ideas on what else should be shared/discussed Each grade level will have a table for parents to "make and take" - looking for suggestions
Would you like to learn strategies to help your child? Bridging the Gap Between Home & School/Helpful Homework Hints is the topic for the first session of Parent University. Parent University will be offered at two locations on different dates. All parents, grandparents, and guardians are welcome. Citrus Springs Elementary will host a session on October 16 from 6:00 – 7:30. Pizza will be served from 5:30 – 6:00. A second opportunity for Parent University will be October 22 hosted by Pleasant Grove Elementary School. Again, pizza will be served from 5:30 – 6:00 followed by sessions from 6:00 -7:00. Please call Maribeth Smith at 726-1931, extension 2321 to RSVP or for more information.

2. Make a wish - are any grade levels interested in writing letters to Santa, Lynne will bring it to Macys by Dec. 14 - $2 donation per letter will be donated from Macys to Make a Wish, templates are available Let us know if your grade level is interested
3. Observations - will not have a specific time scheduled, not looking for a "show," but what you do each day - will try to stay for the whole block (reading or math) - working towards getting observations done by December, starting with the upper grades
4. Switching of 4th and 5th grade theme days - ignore, don't need to change
5. Report cards - will be printed on Tuesday, Oct 16
Will have another optional training on Friday for Skyward
6. November 30 - Nutcracker Ballet - being performed, possible fieldtrip, will only need to pay for bus
7. Yearbook cover designs - please continue to remind 4th and 5th graders about this - due Oct. 19 (put designs in Grace's mailbox), will ask for a subcommittee to help decide on a cover
8. Sons of the American Revolution Contest - will put a copy of directions in your box, this is optional
9. Classroom money - please share budget papers w/ your gradelevel
  • Classroom money - needs to be spent by end of November
  • Science money - needs to be spent by end of December ($15 for K-5 homerooms)
  • Adopt-a-Class money - needs to be spent by end of January
10. Lockdown - review flip chart and go over with new team members - we will have it in a few weeks (most likely a Tuesday or Friday)

  • Veteran's Day concert - Nov 5 9:30 (PreK-2) and 10:15 (3-5)
  • Benefits enrollment - Nov 7
  • Labs will be closed on November 13 and 14th for FAIR testing.
  • November 16 - Midterms and PTA movie/craft night
